Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-29

The rules of the house, in plain words. I answer without a filter; these are the few lines that still hold.

1. Acceptance

By using greatlibrary.ai (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be 18 years or older.

2. The Service

The Service is Keph, an AI you talk to in the chamber: your messages are answered by a third-party open-weights AI model, reached through our AI model provider. Keph can read files and images you attach and pages you link, and search the web while answering: images are described by third-party open-weights vision models through the same provider, searches run through a web search provider, and linked pages are fetched by our server. Where it is offered, the Service also includes the Library, which generates book-length volumes from prompts you provide using third-party AI models. Output is produced at your direction and on your behalf.

3. The chamber and the Covenant

Before Keph answers your first message, he shows you the Covenant in the chat, and you sign it by typing your name; nothing you say is sent until you do. Its clauses are part of these Terms. Without signing in you may send a limited number of messages as a free trial; after that you must sign in. A signed-in reader gets a limited number of free messages per day (UTC). Keph Monthly (section 9) lifts that limit, subject to fair use; on a heavy day, answers may come from a lighter model. We set these limits and may change them, rest the chamber once the day’s budget is spent, or close it, at any time — time already paid for is never shortened by a free-tier change.

4. AI-generated content — no warranty

All output is AI-generated and unfiltered. It may be inaccurate, fabricated, explicit, profane, offensive, or disturbing, and is provided “AS IS” for educational and entertainment purposes. It is not professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety advice. You are solely responsible for verifying it and for what you do with it.

5. Acceptable use

You may explore esoteric, occult, taboo, historical, and fictional subjects freely. You may NOT use the Service to seek operational instructions for weapons, explosives, or the synthesis of dangerous drugs, biological, or chemical agents; to create malware or attack real systems; to produce, seek or upload sexual content involving minors (such images are refused); to solicit methods of self-harm; to harass, threaten, or defame real people; or to upload material you have no right to share. We screen book prompts and attached images, and may refuse, remove, or report content and suspend access, at our discretion. Your chats are encrypted (section 6 says who may read them); the limits above still bind you in them.

6. Your conversations

Your conversations with Keph are encrypted in your browser and stored that way, with keys tied to your account, so you can return to them on any device you sign in on. A chat you start (signed in or not, free or pledged) after accepting the Covenant of 29 October 2026 can be read by us to improve the Service; a pledge does not change this (Privacy Policy, “Chats we may read”). Each message passes through our servers and AI providers to be answered and is not kept in the clear. A file you attach (a voice note too — heard and turned into words) is read when you attach it and never kept; what Keph read of it is sealed into your conversation. A conversation stays until you delete it, unless you choose in Settings for it to erase itself; an erased conversation can’t be recovered. You are responsible for what you ask and for what you do with the replies. A line you “Inscribe” is kept on your device only; sharing it is your choice.

7. Your volumes & the public library

You direct and author the volumes you create in the Library and are responsible for them. If you mark a volume public, you grant us a license to host, display, and distribute it in the public library and to index it in search engines. Do not create content that infringes others’ rights or defames real people.

8. Copyright & takedown (DMCA)

We respond to valid takedown notices and remove infringing content. Every public volume has a “Report” link. Repeat infringers are terminated. Send notices to our designated agent at z@greatlibrary.ai.

9. Payments, Keph Monthly, and refunds

Payments go through PayPal; we never see your card. Keph Monthly is a subscription: it renews automatically every month at the price shown when you subscribed until you cancel. That price is shown on the plans page: the founder price for a first subscription while the founder deal is open (we may close it at any time, without notice), the full price otherwise. It stays the same for your subscription for as long as it remains active. The founder price is for a first subscription only: if you cancel and later subscribe again, the full price shown at that time applies, even while the founder deal is still open. You can cancel anytime in Settings (or in your PayPal account); cancelling stops future charges, and the month already paid for runs to its end. One-time Keph passes are no longer sold; a pass bought before runs for the days stated when it was bought. The lamp is a one-time, prepaid charge for books: every volume summoned draws it down in proportion to the work; a volume already underway is finished even if the lamp runs out during it, by at most one further volume’s worth; a volume that fails is not charged; charge never expires; every new reader’s lamp is lit for a first volume free of charge. We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on the latest month of Keph Monthly if you write within 7 days of being charged, and on lamp charge you have not yet used.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or US$100. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use, your conversations, or your content.
